Who we are

Bright Northumbria is a registered charity which was formed in 1998. Donations make it possible for us to support a number of projects which can make a huge difference to our patients and staff.

We aim to bring a little brightness to the world and improve the patient experience for those accessing Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s services as well as allowing our staff to provide the very best care.

What we do

We have helped to fund a huge range of projects across Northumbria Healthcare, which without your generous donations would not have been possible. From creating calm sanctuaries for staff and patients, to transforming ward spaces to make patients with Alzheimer’s feel safer. Our communities are at the heart of everything we do.

The work of our charity is incredibly far-reaching

Our work includes the healing arts, environment work, volunteer service, and international projects.

These are just a few photographs that capture some of our most memorable moments, you can find out more about the people we have worked with and supported here.

Our volunteers make it possible

We couldn’t do what we do without the support of our incredible volunteers, who are always on hand to help our patients, and always with a smile. From helping with meal times across all of our wards, to maintaining the designated wellbeing areas, no job is too big.
