Medical Education team tops fundraising target with Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge
A team from Northumbria Healthcare’s Medical Education department has gone the extra mile for Bright Charity, raising an incredible £1,219 after completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
The fundraising group – Saph, Joe, Boe, Niall, Sarah, Gemma and Amy – took on the demanding 24-mile route through the Yorkshire Dales National Park, conquering the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in support of Bright Charity.
The challenge, which includes more than 1,600 metres of ascent and is traditionally completed within 12 hours, tested the team’s endurance, determination and teamwork. Thanks to the generosity of friends, family and colleagues, they not only achieved their fundraising goal of £1,000 but exceeded it, raising a fantastic £1,219.
The Medical Education team are among many supporters who take on fundraising challenges throughout the year to support Bright Charity, helping to make a difference for patients, families and staff across Northumbria Healthcare.
Funds raised for Bright Charity help support projects beyond NHS funding, enhancing hospital and community environments, improving patient experience and wellbeing, and supporting the dedicated staff who care for patients every day.
