Running for Bright means that you’re adding a bit of brightness to Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – supporting patients, staff, and the community.

What will you do?
Take part in this iconic half marathon and run from the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne to South Shields.
Since 1981, the Great North Run has captured the imagination of runners across the globe, and 2026 will mark an incredible 45 years of the famous event.
How do we sign up?
Complete your registration on Eventbrite. Runners must pay a registration fee of £30. More instructions will follow from the Bright Charity team.
Your sponsorship pledge
We’re asking you to raise £250 to support our work across Northumberland and North Tyneside. You’ll receive fundraising support and a free charity t-shirt to help you reach your goal.
What else do we need to know?
You will receive a link from Bright Charity that you MUST complete to enter the race. If you do not complete this within a week of receiving it, your entry may be refunded and the place made available to others.
