The Brightest Day of the Year!

Being in hospital as a patient or a member of staff, especially during the summer, can be difficult. So, we want to make the day a little easier.

We’ve chosen this day to raise awareness and to celebrate our charity and the work we’ve done to support patients, staff, volunteers, and our local communities.

Of course, we couldn’t celebrate this without recognising the importance of kind donations, fundraising initiatives, and appreciation from those around us.

What do we have planned?

For staff

  • Go bright for Bright! Whether it’s just a pair of socks or if you go all out head to toe, we welcome staff to get involved by wearing yellow to show your support for Bright. Donations are optional and any funds received will go towards providing a little bit of brightness to patients, staff, and our communities.
  • Expect bright and colourful displays around the trust to celebrate. Why not snap up a picture? Tag us on Facebook and use the hashtag #BrightestDay

For patients

  • Expect touches of brightness to your patients’ day with a series of activities and gifts rolled out across the day.
  • Engage patients with arts and cultural activities taking place throughout the trust during the day.

For everyone

  • Come and visit our pop up stands in our Northumbria Volunteer Service (NVS) shops/cafes around the trust. Here you’ll meet the team and find out more about how we go the extra mile to support Northumbria Healthcare and beyond.
  • Opportunity to purchase an exclusive Bright coffee mug. Your first drink is on us when you use a Bright cup! Get discounted drinks in our NVS shops/cafes with each use after.
  • Meet a special guest… More details to come!

How can I get involved?

Visit us! We want to catch up with our patients, visitors, and staff.

You’ll be able to chat with our volunteers and learn about who we are, what we do, and how we support Northumbria Healthcare.

These friendly faces will be able to answer any questions and show you some of the cool things we’re working on!

Take photos throughout the day and share on staff Facebook with the hashtag #BrightestDay!

Enjoy a delicious meal from our canteens, themed for our Brightest Day. Read the menus on offer here.
