Bright funding equips Occupational Therapists for home visits

When our community occupational therapists set out each day, they carry more than expertise and compassion.

They carry the tools that help patients live safely and independently in their own homes.

Thanks to supporters of Bright, those life-changing visits just became smoother, smarter, and far less heavy on the shoulders.

Generous donations have funded new lightweight backpacks and observational equipment, providing a fully equipped kit with:

  • A thermometer
  • Blood pressure monitor
  • Fingertip pulse oximeter
  • Plenty of pockets stocked with aprons, gloves, masks, wipes…
  • Even room for a laptop so staff no longer need two or three separate bags

With the funding, therapists can now take patient observations and instantly share results with the Single Point of Access team, GPs or even the ambulance service if someone needs urgent help. Faster information means faster care.

The equipment and bags were sourced and assembled by Administration support officer Michelle Luke, who has seen first-hand how much this will mean: “We’re so grateful for the funding we received from Bright.

“Our team work far and wide to help our patients in the community, and this will make their lives that bit easier.”

Every supporter who donates to Bright helps lighten the load for our NHS teams and lifts up patients across Northumberland and North Tyneside.

These backpacks may look simple but their impact reaches right into the heart of our communities.

Thank you for helping us bring brighter care into every home we visit.
